Meet The Trainers

Peter Stacey

Peter started his drainage career in 1970, with a company in north London, in 1975 he started working for Dyno-Rod as Senior field engineer & Foreman, from there he worked his way up to assistant branch Manager in 1977 until 1979 when he became a Branch manager, in 1983 he became SE regional sales manager for the next 5 years until he became an independent franchise of Dyno-Rod until 1988 when he set up his own drainage company Fullbore Drain Services.

The vast array of the roles he has fulfilled whilst with the Dyno Rod group of companies has enabled him to engage directly in many types of specialist type scenarios all of which were considered to be technical related.
​
Together with his colleagues who sat on the company owned technical committee, he was involved as well as instrumental in the co-writing of the Dyno Rod Health & Safety Policy.
​
He personally wrote the surveyors training manual which was subsequently used to train all new surveyors who joined the company.
​
The class training course which individuals were subsequently put through during their induction to the company was delivered entirely by Peter, he is also one of the founders of NADC.

Martin Beattie

Martin has worked in the drainage industry for almost 30 years having started in the summer of 1989. After various positions with Dyno, Drain Doctor, Titmas & JM Murphy (Sewers).
Martin formed his own drainage company Accelerated Drain Services in 2004.
Martin is one of the founder members of the NADC and has served as Vice Chairman for the last nine years, he has played a key role in the training and certification programme across the UK and Ireland and also delivers training courses in the south-east.
​
Martin works closely with Drainsafe and is keen to ensure that all contractors become accredited. He is committed to raising training standards across the industry.

Matthew Duffy

I have 17 years experience of working in the drainage and high pressure water jetting industry covering general drain clearances, CCTV reporting and quality control, localised in situ pipe repairs, civil repairs taking the form of hard standing, pipe replacement, water services and pump station repairs in which I hold the 17th Edition Wiring Regulation Certification.
​
I am a fully qualified instructor (since 2012) for various regulators including N.A.D.C, EUSR, WJA, SQA providing training predominately for the drainage industry.
​
During this period I have designed and implemented various Capital Investment Projects ranging from £300000 to £2000000 per annum.
​
My role has been recognised, for my detail to Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and compliance thus ensuring the requirements for our accreditations are met for Safe contractor, CHAS, RISQS, Construction line, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
​
In 2019, I was appointed as the N.A.D.C’s Internal Quality Assurance Auditor for training, this role involves me in course designing, approving, assessing and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Simon Goddard

Simon Goddard joined the drainage industry in 2004, when he started his own Dyno-Rod franchise, employing 7 people. During this time part of Simon’s role was working on the road as a drainage engineer carrying out unblocks and drain repairs, alongside running the business. In addition to the above Simon also managed a Dyno-Rod business across Devon & Cornwall employing 25 staff for a number of years.
​
He also ran a tanker division for a large waste management company managing 6 jet vacs, 2 gully suckers and a CCTV crew working across the South-West of England managing wet well cleaning contracts and highway contracts including HADDAMS surveys.
​
Throughout his time in the industry, Simon has managed and trained many engineers in all aspects of drainage work from unblocks and repairs drainage law to CCTV, to customer service and upselling.
​
Prior to this Simon gained vast sales experience in several different fields from exhibitions to pharmaceuticals he presented to major clients such as Pfizer, Glaxo Smithkline and Curver Plastics.
​
Presenting to large groups is second nature to him.
Simon has a good, calm, fun presentation style ensuring the learner not only learns but also enjoys the experience as well.
Simon has attended and passed the PTTLS course and IOSH managing safety.

Mike Sheehy

Mike has been working in the water and wastewater industry since 1998. He is a qualified electronic engineer and gains the most satisfaction when creating solutions for his customers’ problems.
Having spent many years working in the contracting side of this industry he gained a lot of valuable experience across a range of equipment and operations covering sewer cleaning, inspection and rehabilitation.
​
In 2008 he left the contracting side of this industry and established UTS Ltd which specialises in the supply, service and hire of a wide range of specialist equipment and machinery used in the maintenance of water and wastewater networks.
Drawing on his previous experience, product knowledge and background in engineering, he always aims to deliver the best solution for his customers by advising on the most suitable equipment or designing bespoke solutions where necessary.

Bruce Taylor

Bruce spent 27 years with General Electric covering predominately Environmental Introduction (EMS) Health & Safety standards into the European business.
​
He retired in 2003 (this lasted 2 weeks) and he started an EHS Consultancy designed to assist small businesses’.
In 2006 he merged with DAMM Environmental to support their drainage expansion ambitions.
​
Training connections with N.A.D.C. were introduced in 2013. His experience brings: Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) / Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001:2015) / 6 Sigma (DMAIC) / Behavioural programmes / Global Star Auditing / Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP).

Davy Brown

Davy has spent over 35 years in the UK drainage industry specialising in drain inspection and repair work, running several drain survey units and repair teams. He spent many years specialising in property subsidence surveys.
He started drain lining in 1997 and has experience in several no-dig repair techniques including CIPP lining, patch repairs, pipe bursting and pipe moling.
In 2016 he wrote and delivered the NADC Drain Lining Foundation Course (EU Skills Registered).
As the managing director of Pest Control he now works with over 200 pest control companies undertaking drain inspections in order to solve domestic and commercial rat infestation issues.
This specialist work and techniques takes him all over the UK on a weekly basis and in 2019 as far as New York, where they were asked to deliver a presentation to their sanitation department.
He also delivers a Drain and Sewer Pest Awareness Course to pest controller technicians on behalf of Killgerm Chemicals Ltd, one of the largest suppliers to the UK and European pest control industry.
